Gurdjieff understood that a man’s and a woman’s nature are in the illusion that they are free and a cause of their actions and desires. He claims that man is asleep that the goal is to awaken a higher level of intelligence. Through the power of reason and intuition, men and women can live a meaningful and purposeful life. Free from identifying with everything that causes a painful reaction when our desires are not satisfied. Freedom is understanding our emotions and desires. The belief in free will is a great obstacle to true knowledge.
